Benefits of Natural Linen

Comfort & Performance

Breathability & moisture-wicking, linen’s natural fibers allow for excellent airflow and moisture absorption, keeping you cool and dry, especially in warmer climates and can also regulate body temperature, keeping you warm in winter and cool in summer.

Quality

Linen can absorb a significant amount of moisture without feeling damp, and becomes softer and more comfortable with each wash. With proper care, linen can last for many years.

Health & Hygiene

Linen is natural, organic fabric that is gentle on the skin and suitable for people with allergies or sensitive skin (hypoallergenic). It has natural antibacterial and antimicrobial properties, helping to prevent the growth of bacteria and odors, and is naturally anti-static, reducing the buildup of static cling.

How to Care

Washing

  1. Water Temperature: Wash linen in cold or lukewarm water (up to 30-40°C). Avoid hot water, as it can damage the fibers and cause shrinkage.
  2. Detergent: Use a mild, liquid detergent designed for delicate fabrics. Avoid detergents with bleach, ammonia, or enzymes, as these can damage or discolor the linen.
  3. Cycle: Use the gentle or delicate cycle on your washing machine.
  4. Avoid: Fabric softeners, bleach, and harsh chemicals.
  5. Washing with other items: Wash linen separately from heavier fabrics like jeans or jackets.
  6. Soaking: Avoid soaking linen, as this can weaken the fibers.

How to Care

Drying

  1. Air Dry: Air dry linen whenever possible, either by hanging it or laying it flat.
  2. Low Heat: If you must machine dry, use a low heat setting.
  3. Avoid: Tumble dryers and direct sunlight, as they can damage the fibers and cause fading.
  4. Shade: Dry linen in the shade to prevent fading.

How to Care

Ironing

  1. Iron While Damp: Iron linen while slightly damp using medium to high heat.
  2. Steam: You can also use a steamer to remove wrinkles.
  3. Avoid: Ironing on a high heat setting, as this can damage the fibers.

How to Care

Storage

  1. Store Folded or Hung: Store linen in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
  2. Breathable Storage: Use breathable storage bags or containers to protect linen from dust.
  3. Avoid: Storing linen in tight, non-breathable containers.
